Planning with Purpose & Pride
Some weddings stick with you — not just because of the details or the timeline, but because of the couple. Jordan and Ali were that kind of couple.
I came into their planning process about 60 days before their big day. Life had happened, as it often does, and they needed more support to get to the finish line. Ali’s mom, Rocio, found me through a Google search, and what drew them to our business was exactly what makes me so proud of what we do. We’re a lesbian-owned business. My mom, our founder, just celebrated 20 years together with her wife and 10 years of marriage, so this kind of love? We honor it every day.
An Intentional, Laid-Back Vision
I met Ali for the first time at a cozy coffee shop she loved. From the jump, I could tell she and Jordan were sweet, loving, and deeply committed to one another. They weren’t looking for a show — they were looking for a day that felt like them.
What stood out about their wedding vision was the priority they placed on comfort and connection. They didn’t want to force anything. Their wedding party chose their own attire within a color palette, and they opted for cake centerpieces instead of floral ones — yes, cake on the table! It was unconventional, meaningful, and perfectly them.

Building Trust & Sharing Stories
Our relationship grew organically over those weeks of planning. At the wedding rehearsal, Jordan and I realized we’d both recently lost longtime pets, and in that moment of shared vulnerability, a deeper connection formed.
That kind of emotional honesty was a theme throughout their wedding. Jordan and Ali were completely themselves — soft, joyful, and present.
The Wedding Day: Love in Full Bloom
Their wedding took place at Piedmont Garden Tent in Atlanta. They loved the idea of being outdoors, surrounded by nature, right in the heart of the city.
One of my favorite moments? Watching them during their portraits. The photographer, Jessica Dynelle, captured them running through Piedmont Park at sunset. They were totally unposed, full of laughter. That’s when I whispered to myself, these two are so in love.
During the reception, their friends and family shared stories in their toasts about how Jordan and Ali met one night and never looked back. The room was filled with laughter and tears, the kind that come from deep recognition and real joy.
Their first dance was to Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish, a song that held deep meaning for them. The symbolism was personal, they even had matching bird tattoos.

More Than a Wedding — A Love Lesson
This wedding meant a lot to me — not just as a planner, but as a woman still on her own journey toward love. Watching Jordan and Ali reminded me of the beauty of finding someone you like and trust just as they are. No performance. No pressure. Just truth and tenderness.
Planning a Queer Wedding with Intention
To LGBTQ+ couples planning their wedding: your love deserves to be seen and celebrated. Find vendors who honor your identity, respect your values, and prioritize good communication. That’s the baseline — not the exception.
Why share their wedding during Pride Month? Because their love, like so many others in our community, is a form of resistance.
In a world that still challenges LGBTQ+ joy, loving your partner out loud is revolutionary.
We made sure their wedding day was a safe, affirming space — from using correct pronouns to announcing them simply as “Jordan and Ali” during their grand entrance. No roles, no rules. Just love, equality, and intention.
